Prostitutes Sioux Falls
Sioux Falls police recently arrested eleven individuals in an online sex sting operation. This follows other prostitution-related arrests in the city, including two people arrested earlier and four women arrested on separate charges. Prostitution-related arrests are relatively rare in Sioux Falls, according to KELOLAND News.
Reverse Prostitution Operation
The Sioux Falls Police Department conducted a reverse prostitution operation,
also known as a Reverse John Operation, targeting individuals soliciting sex. Those arrested face charges under South Dakota law (SDCL 22-23-9). SFPD Public Information Officer Sam Clemens stated,
We’re turning more attention to the ‘johns’ in these cases.
Enforcement and City Initiatives
An Oregon woman and a New York woman were among those recently arrested for alleged prostitution in separate Sioux Falls stings. While escort services operate under specific city ordinances (Chapter 118), defined as businesses arranging companions for a fee, recent enforcement focuses on illegal solicitation. Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken has expressed a goal to reduce prostitution and sex crimes in the city. The police continue to monitor online platforms used for such activities.
