2024 Sting Operations

Milwaukee and Milwaukie police conducted operations targeting prostitution and human trafficking. On December 20, 2024, Milwaukie Police and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office hosted an interagency mission. This sting focused on purchasers and sellers of sex, as well as human traffickers. Twelve people were arrested. New court records revealed details about a Milwaukee prostitution ring investigation. Prosecutors charged six men, including attorneys. Some high-profile suspects appeared in court for the first time on December 20, 2024. Four of the six men faced charges related to the ring.

2025 Enforcement Actions

Law enforcement continues efforts to combat these issues. On May 30, 2025, the Clackamas County Human Trafficking Team conducted another operation. Sex buyers were arrested after arriving at a location in Milwaukie. They received citations for procurement under Oregon law. Similar missions in Wilsonville also led to arrests.

Ongoing Challenges and Victim Support

The problem persists in various locations. Milwaukee’s South Side, particularly West Greenfield Avenue, has become a known prostitution hub. Trading cash for sex remains an issue despite ongoing enforcement. Prostitutes are often victims whose lives and safety are controlled by others. Police stress that these operations target exploitation. They aim to reduce demand and identify trafficking victims. More work is needed to address the root causes and support those affected.
