The English Collective of Prostitutes (ECP) is a grassroots group. Sex workers and supporters campaign together. They want prostitution decriminalized.

Prostitution in Akwanga Region

In Akwanga, Nasarawa State, both women and young men work as prostitutes. Most clients are men. Muslim women sometimes enter prostitution too. They often work from homes or public spaces, not brothels.

Law Enforcement Actions

Police raids happen in many places. A task force raided a brothel in Nigeria. They arrested nine prostitutes and five others. Security raids in Riyadh also led to arrests. Saratoga Springs has seen prostitution arrests as well.

Risks and Violence

Violence sometimes occurs. A 23-year-old woman killed her friend recently. The friend told her boyfriend she was a prostitute. Health risks exist. Hepatitis B is a concern in Nasarawa. Research continues on its spread.
