Schools and Youth

Hanahan High School holds events like financial aid nights. The school song mentions its pride. Hanahan Middle School’s all-girls math team won a Department of Defense competition. The Boys & Girls Club operates locally.

Hanahan High athletics include girls’ soccer, flag football, tennis, volleyball, and basketball. The recreation department offers dance classes and softball leagues (Co-Ed, Women’s, Men’s Open, Men’s Church). Oceanside Collegiate girls beat Hanahan for a region title in February 2025.

Weber School District serves the area. Christian boarding schools for girls exist in Hanahan.

Legal and Safety Matters

Two people were arrested in a multi-state prostitution and money laundering case. A former Gardner SSA employee was sentenced for trying to lure someone. A Hanahan man faced charges related to hitting a state trooper. A former South Ogden officer was charged with child sex abuse.

Street prostitution sparked community outrage in Auburn. Bond was granted for a Hanahan man accused in a fatal crash. Nicholas Hanahan, a Cathedral High School graduate, fenced for Notre Dame. A Hanahan PD officer was previously accused of impersonation and stalking.
