A significant bust occurred on December 30, 2016, involving Steele County men. Timothy Mann, 44, was arrested and charged with gross misdemeanor counts of prostitution in Albert Lea. Further arrests happened on May 21, 2019, when a Sheffield man was found guilty in an Albert Lea sting. A large operation in Albert Lea and Owatonna resulted in 20 arrests.
