Recent Arrest Operations

Recent operations targeted multiple areas. Authorities detained 27 sex workers in Hawally. Another sting in Salmiya, Mahboula, Jleeb, and Khaitan led to 34 arrests. Police raided six men’s massage parlors, catching eight prostitutes. Twelve more expats were later arrested for similar activities. A Ukrainian woman was also detained for prostitution.

Health and Social Concerns

Health concerns exist alongside enforcement. Kuwait has over 1,000 reported AIDS cases. One citizen publicly warned about imported prostitutes spreading HIV. Sex workers often face difficult conditions.

Global Prostitution Patterns

Similar patterns appear elsewhere. Kazakhstan estimates 4,000 to 25,000 sex workers, including migrants from Kyrgyzstan. In the Philippines, Kawit historically dealt with prostitution issues. Dover police in New Jersey and England also address local sex work concerns.

Enforcement continues. Officials recently broke up an international prostitution ring. They monitor areas like Mahboula and downtown districts for related activities.
