A man was arrested for killing and burying a prostitute in Delta State, Nigeria. This grim discovery came to light during a wider police crackdown on human trafficking and underage prostitution in the Ughelli area. The suspect was exposed after she brought three girls, including a 16-year-old, from another state to Ughelli. They reportedly refused to engage in prostitution.

Widespread Arrests in Crackdown

Further police operations resulted in the arrest of 94 suspected sex workers and others. In a significant raid, police apprehended a couple – a hotel proprietor and his wife, Mrs. Grace Etariri. Ten additional suspects and ten suspected prostitutes were also arrested.

Hotel Brothel Exposed

Intelligence indicated the hotel was being used as a brothel for underage prostitution. Police Commissioner Delta State Command stated that a female suspect trafficked women from Eastern Nigeria to Ughelli for prostitution. Intelligence revealed she was exposed when three girls she trafficked, including the 16-year-old, refused to participate. The investigation is ongoing.
